2.03 Roofing Project Documentation

How we use CompanyCam and photo documentation standards to capture before, during, and after photos on every Trust Roofing project.

Roofing work involves working at height and requires proper safety equipment and training. The information in this course is intended for educational purposes. Homeowners should consult a licensed roofing professional before attempting roof repairs or modifications.

Overview

Photo documentation is one of the most important things a Trust Roofing crew can do on a job site — and one of the most frequently overlooked. Photos protect the homeowner, protect Trust Roofing, and provide the record of what was found and what was done on every project. At Trust Roofing, we use CompanyCam as our primary documentation tool. Every project has a photo log that tells the story of the job from first arrival through final walkthrough.

Our Field Standards

Photo documentation is required on every Trust Roofing project.

Field standards include:
* Photos are taken at arrival, during tear-off, during installation, and at completion
* All areas of damage or concern are photographed before and after repair
* Photos are uploaded to CompanyCam in real time — not saved to a personal device
* Before any additional work outside original scope begins, photos are sent to management
* The final walkthrough includes a complete photo set of the finished installation

Our Process

What to Photograph

Arrival
* Full exterior from all four sides
* Existing gutter and fascia condition
* Any pre-existing damage visible from the ground

During Tear-Off
* Deck condition as it is uncovered — rot, damage, previous repairs
* Completed deck re-nailing before underlayment begins

During Installation
* Valley protection installed
* Flashing at penetrations, walls, and chimneys
* Each stage as it progresses

At Completion
* Full exterior of the completed roof from all four sides
* Close-up of all flashing details
* Clean job site and gutter system

Using CompanyCam

* Open the project before starting work
* Upload photos directly — do not save to phone and upload later
* Flag any photo that requires management review
