Overview

Gutters are often damaged or misaligned during a tear-off if the crew does not take proper precautions. At Trust Roofing, protecting and resetting gutters correctly is a standard part of every job — not an afterthought. In Tampa Bay, gutters are critical for directing heavy rainfall away from the foundation and landscaping. A gutter system that is damaged or improperly reattached after a tear-off creates a problem for the homeowner and a liability for Trust Roofing.

Our Field Standards

Gutter protection and reset are required on every Trust Roofing shingle roof project.

Field standards include:
* Gutters are inspected and photographed before tear-off begins
* Gutter guards are removed carefully and stored safely during the project
* Debris is prevented from entering the gutter system during tear-off
* Gutters are inspected for damage after installation is complete
* Gutters are cleaned of roofing debris before project sign-off
* Any pre-existing gutter damage is documented before work begins

Our Process

Before Tear-Off

* Inspect the gutter system and note any pre-existing damage with photos
* Remove gutter guards if present and store them safely
* Confirm gutters are secure before tear-off begins

During Tear-Off

* Avoid leaning ladders directly against gutters without protection
* Prevent large debris from being thrown into gutter sections

After Installation

* Inspect gutters for any damage caused during the project
* Clean all roofing debris and granules from the gutter system
* Confirm downspouts are clear and draining correctly
* Reset gutter guards if they were removed
* Photograph the completed gutter system before departing
